Dean is a growth-focused, senior-level Internet and enterprise software executive with more than 30 years of experience leading marketing, sales and business development for B2B companies ranging in size from startups to Global 2000 organizations. He’s best known for establishing business models for growth companies, orchestrating product marketing strategies, using data and creativity to drive demand and ramping businesses to scale.
Prior to joining Tethr in April 2018, Dean built and led the sales and marketing teams for Union Metrics, a provider of social media analytics and listening software, prior to their acquisition by digital PR provider TrendKite. Before Union Metrics, Dean built and ran the marketing team as VP Marketing for Zenoss, a leading provider of hybrid cloud monitoring software. Previously, he held the top marketing and sales executive position for six other B2B SaaS companies across the application and systems management, big data infrastructure, social Web, CRM, retail analytics and financial services markets. He led the marketing efforts behind one successful IPO and the sale of four companies and serves as a mentor and advisor for early stage companies in the Austin area.
Dean received his BBA in Marketing from Texas A&M University and completed the Marketing Management Program at Stanford Graduate School of Business. An aspiring furniture maker and live music lover, he lives in Austin with his wife and has two children that have flown the nest.
